BBQ Dinner & Closing Campfire
Families are invited to join the troop for a BBQ dinner on the last night in camp and stay for the campfire.
Dinner is served at 5:50PM following the flag ceremony. Please do not plan to arrive before 4PM as the scouts will still be participating in program activities. Also, please do not plan to take your scout home early on Friday night. The troop will need all hands to clean up and get packed out on Saturday morning and it is unfair to the others if scouts pull out early.
Dinner is $8.00/person for ages 11 and up. Head count must be finalized on July 13. Driving directions to Broad Creek are attached.
Packing List
Most scouts pack their gear in plastic foot lockers. These will be stacked on-end in the trailers so please take this into account when packing your locker. Also, after everything is packed, it is best to seal the joint with duct tape in case it rains on Sunday. On many lockers, there are also small holes under the handles that should get taped as well.
Do not send any food with your scouts. There is no reason for anyone to have food in their tent. Having food in your tent is about the only way to ensure you have small furry visitors in your tent at night. Also remember that scouts should not have any electronics. No cell phones, iPods, electronic games, etc.
Not sure what your scout should take to camp? Use this list to help him pack.
